Janet Schlarbaum on Reusable Shopping Bags
Janet Schlarbaum on why using reusable shopping bags can help the environment.
Janet Schlarbaum, founder of www.janetschlarbaumblog.com, is encouraging shoppers to use reusable shopping bags in place of disposable plastic bags. As Earth Day approaches, examining the damage plastic bags can do to our planet is a key issue.
In a recent interview, the Director of International Coastal Cleanup, Dianne Sherman, reported that “During Ocean Conservancy’s 2008 International Coastal Cleanup, 1.4 million plastic bags were found littering our oceans, lakes and rivers and wind up harming or killing sea turtles, birds or other marine life.
Trash is one of the most pervasive – but solvable — pollution problems facing our oceans and waterways.” This is an issue Janet Schlarbaum feels very strongly about thus advocating the use of reusable shopping bags. “Reusable shopping bags are not only convenient, but recent models are inexpensive, stylish and are becoming the new must-have accessory,” reports Janet Schlarbaum.
“Taking care of our planet can help to provide a better future for our children. The aim of the Janet Schlarbaum Recycling blog is to share eco-friendly ideas and tips and promote recycling.”
